The Westin Guanzhou to Open on May 18

by Ruth on May 2nd, 2007

Westin Hotel GuangzhouOn my last trip to and from Manila, I had a stop-over in Guanzhou, China, and by the number of passengers who got off/on from that point, the city must really be attracting a lot of business travelers. And of course, the hotel industry is quick to fill the demand for more accommodation options in the area.

To open is the new Westin Guangzhou Hotel, which is now accepting reservations for arrival on or after it opening on May 18, 2007.

Located in the heart of the business district – the Tian He District, our hotel is adjacent to the CITIC Plaza, which is home to the majority of the Fortune 500 companies in Guangzhou. We are also within a short walk of high-end retail shopping and the Guangzhou East Train Station – a major access point into Guangzhou from Hong Kong.

But wait, Guanzhou is not just a destination for business travelers. It’s also an interesting destination for tourists as well.

The city is located in the heart of the Pearl River Delta, one of the most economically dynamic and flourishing areas in China, approximately 113 miles from Hong Kong. With a 2,000 year history, Guangzhou is regarded as the “City of Flowers” of China and offers visitors extensive and varied sightseeing experiences – from thousand year-old temples to natural landscapes such as Mount Baiyun Scenic Belt and Conghua Hot Spring.

So, whether for business or sightseeing, you might want to consider the Westin. Imagine being one of the first guests to sleep on those beds, and dine on those chinaware!
