Manila Ravaged by Xangsane (Milenyo)
I’ve just returned from a short holiday, only to get wind that typhoon Xangsane (locally named Milenyo) ravaged Manila and left the city and neighboring cities in disarray (see some photos here). Metroblogging Manila has a series of first-hand accounts of the aftermath of one of the biggest typhoon to hit Central Luzon in the last several years:
- Storm Batters Manila
- And this is what he left behind
- Blackout Blues
- Billboard-free Manila
- Flashflooding
- 6 Days of Darkness and Counting
Those who are travelling into and out of the country should expect some inconveniences. If you’re checking in a four- or five-star hotel, there shouldn’t be much problems, but better check your hotel and flight reservations, just the same.

luzon was badly hit by super typhoon milenyo. it’s so sad that many people got injured because of strong winds, heavy rainshowers and falling debris. i hope this kind of typhoon magnitude will not happen again.

Hi Ruth, Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m also an Asia fan, however I’ve only been to Thailand and visit at the end of every year. I’ll be adding KL to my trip this year thanks to Air Asia.
