Goodies for Kids Aboard Gulf Air

by Ruth on February 28th, 2006

Last year, I wrote about travelling with a toddler in tow. In just a few more days, I’ll be in the same boat (er, airplane), this time with a 3-and-a half year old pre-schooler. I’m kicking myself for not listening to my own blog and not booking with Gulf Air. Apparently, aside from the Sky Nanny, Gulf Air is also offering goodies for kids on board to help them keep busy and make an otherwise boring flight more enjoyable.

The goodies, available on long and medium-haul flights, come in two types of packages to suit two age groups of children, those aged between three and five and, those between six and 10 years.

The goody bag for the younger group contains a camel-soft toy, an activity book, crayons, a memory game, a sticker book, a cap and a postcard.

Children aged between six and 10 years, will get a pack containing camel-soft toy, a pair of sunglasses, a Lego game, a wallet, an activity book, a 3D puzzle, a ‘Magic Match’ puzzle, a pencil and a cap.

Those on short-haul will also get some stuff to keep them occupied: crayons, coloring books, and such, which is quite common among other airlines, anyway.

Oh well, I’m just hoping China Airlines would also have something for us. But to be sure, I’m packing our own stuff. Thanks for the nuggets of advice you left; I’m keeping them all in mind from this upcoming trip!

Don’t most airlines offer this kind of service? We have travelled EVA and Singapore airlines with our daughter and they were always a great deal of help - toys included. Of course once you leave Asia and start flying with an airline like Air Canada all bets are off.

hi clark, well, the services for kids aboard ranges widely, even for asian airlines… from almost nothing (China Airlines, see my March 5 entry) to just a stuff toy (Emirates), to a whole package such as above. Singapore, Thai and Cathay are great for kids, indeed!
